Dear HMS Families,
This morning, a fire alarm was triggered at our middle school after smoke was observed coming from the ductwork in a classroom. Out of an abundance of caution, we evacuated all students from the building and called the fire department to investigate.
Crews clearing the scene at this time after determining the exact cause of the smoke in an AC unit. We want to assure you that all students are safe, and we will resume classes shortly.

Football fans, mark your calendars! Season ticket holders are invited to renew their tickets for the upcoming season starting July 1, 2024. Renewals will be open throughout the entire month of July.
Current season ticket holders will receive detailed renewal instructions via email by the end of June 2024. The email will outline the simple steps to ensure a seamless renewal process. If you prefer to purchase tickets in person, you can come to the Student Activity Center on the High School Campus from July 22nd to July 26th between 8 am and 3 pm.
If you are NOT a current ticket holder, you will have the opportunity to pick out your tickets beginning August 8, 2024.

UPDATE: Power has been restored at all HISD campuses. All Summer Academy programs and summer classes will resume as scheduled tomorrow, Wednesday, June 5th. Thank you for your patience and thanks to everyone who worked hard today to help our kids return to classes!

Despite class cancellations, HISD staff are still serving summer meals today at no cost for all children 0-18 years old. Meals will be available for pick up today from 11:15 AM - 12 Noon at the Middle School bus lanes.

(Tuesday, June 4, 2024, 6:30AM) Due to ongoing power outages caused by severe storms overnight, all Summer Academy and summer school in-person classes are canceled for today. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. - HISD Admin

HISD will be serving meals at no charge to all children ages 0-18 from June 3rd -28th at the middle school bus shuttle area Monday - Thursday from 11:15-12pm.
Fridayās lunch will be sent on Thursdays.
Children do not have to be in the car if the adult in the car is the parent or guardian.
If the adult in the car is not the parent or guardian, the child will need to be in the car in order to receive a meal. We will be verifying the childās name and age, and you will receive a placard to hang each time you come. If a child is not in the district, you can bring the child or proof of childās enrollment. No duplicate meals are allowed. If a child is at summer academy or doing summer workouts, they will receive a meal there.

Dear HISD Families,
This morning, a Henderson Middle School student required medical attention. The school nurse provided immediate first aid while Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel responded to the school. The student was transported by ambulance to the hospital for further evaluation and care. Our thoughts are with the student and their family and we wish the student a speedy recovery.

An ambulance was called to Henderson Middle School this morning due to a minor medical emergency involving one of our students. The student is currently receiving appropriate care and we wish the student a speedy recovery.

Due to the recent storms in our area, our Middle School and the Montgomery Achievement Center campuses have experienced a partial loss of power. We understand this may be concerning, but we want to assure you that all students are safe, and our school staff is managing the situation. Despite the power outage, please be assured that lunch services will proceed with only a few modifications.
There is no need for immediate concern or to pick up your children from school at this time. Our preparedness plans are in place, and we are working diligently to ensure the safety and comfort of all students until the end of the school day.
The well-being of our students is our top priority, and we are committed to keeping you informed about any developments. Our facilities team is actively working with local authorities and utility services to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as they become available.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this unexpected event. Due to the power outage, school phones are being rerouted to our district administration offices.

Dear HISD Families,
All security lockdowns and holds in the district have been released. All students and staff are safe are returning to their regular class schedules.
The Henderson Police Department, campus SROs, district authorities and other law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, initiated an investigation into the threat and have determined there does not appear to be any immediate danger to students or staff.
The safety and security of our students, staff, and community remains our highest priorities. We appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation during this time.

The secure holds in the district are still ongoing. All students and staff are safe but remain in their classrooms and will not released from campus at this time. Campuses are serving lunch.
The Henderson Police Department is continuing its investigation into the exact source of the threat at this time.
We will update you with additional information as soon as it is available. Families should not come to campuses to pick up students at this time. We will inform you when the securty holds are released.
