This is a reminder that Monday, September 28 will be a professional development day for HISD staff which means a day off for our students. We look forward to seeing students back on campus on Tuesday, September 29.
Henderson Middle School is currently reviewing our 2026–2027 Targeted Improvement Plan, which outlines our campus improvement priorities, strategies, and student achievement goals. As part of this process, we will hold a public hearing on Monday, September 28, at 2:30 pm in the HMS Media Center to provide an opportunity for parents and community members to review the plan and provide feedback. Attendance is completely optional. We encourage you to review the attached plan when convenient. If you have questions or feedback, please feel free to email me at ndriver@hendersonisd.org in advance of the hearing so that they can be incorporated into changes we may make going forward.

We are excited to announce that our Book Fair is coming next week!
When: September 8-11
Where: HMS Media Center
Students will be able to browse a wide selection of books and other fun items during the fair. We encourage families to send students with money or set up a Book Fair eWallet. You can add funds to your students eWallet ahead of time, and they can use those funds to purchase books and other items at the fair.
Families are welcome to shop the book fair with their student during their scheduled lunch time:
6th Grade: 11:40-12:10
7th Grade: 12:34-1:04
8th Grade: 11:06-11:36
Can't make it to the book fair? Families can shop online from September 7-20.
