Henderson ISD is deeply saddened by the recent death of one of our Henderson Middle School students. He will be greatly missed by classmates, friends, teachers and staff. We have grief counseling and support services available to our students and staff. Our thoughts remain with the family during this very difficult time.

End of the year HMS band concert schedule
Early this afternoon, a middle school student suffered a medical incident while in class. Campus administrators, along with the campus nurse, responded to the classroom and provided first aid. Out of an abundance of caution and in consultation with the student’s parents, paramedics were called to the campus and transported the student to the hospital for further evaluation. Since the incident resulted in a brief disruption to the instructional day, we wanted to notify all parents about the incident. HMS would like to extend a big congratulations and job well done to our own Mr. Vasquez! He is currently one of our High Impact Tutors and assistant soccer coach. He will be graduating on May 13th from Wilmington College in Ohio. Not only will he be graduating, but he is 10th in his class and the first college graduate in his family! He will also have the honor of wearing a stole representing his parents home country of El Salvador.

HMS boys soccer games for today, April 6th, have been cancelled due to weather.
HISD received a report from a student at the Middle School campus today that they had heard about and had seen a threat to the campus posted on social media. We immediately took this report seriously and conducted a thorough investigation to determine the credibility of the threat.
After a detailed investigation involving a number of students and staff, we have found that the threat was unfounded and there is no evidence that there was ever any danger to our school or students. We take all threats seriously and are committed to ensuring the safety of our students and staff.
We appreciate everyone who cooperated with this investigation and want to remind all students that if they ever hear or see anything that causes them concern, they should immediately report it to a trusted adult. It is important that we work together as a community to maintain a safe and secure environment for all.

Attention 8th graders interested in trying out for HHS JV Drill Team for the 2023-2024 school year. Here are important dates for you to remember.
March 1st-9th - sign ups in HMS front office
March 9th @ 6:00 - Mandatory tryout meeting at HHS main gym
March 20th-24th - Tryout material taught at HHS Lionette gym
March 25th - Tryouts at HHS Lionette gym
HMS Parent Involvement Night will be Monday, February 27th, 4:00-6:00. The HHS Drill team will be performing around 4:30 and will the director, Mrs. Hachtel, will be available for any questions regrading the HHS and HMS drill team.
